Kim Rae Won and Kim Tae Hee will meet again on the stage of a fashion show held at Seoul National University (서울대) on 8/25. The event gSeoul National University Museum and Art Gallery Sponsor Night (서울대학교 박물관•미술관 후원의 밤)h for the grand opening of the Art Gallery of the university is sponsored by Samsung. Korea"s good girl gains fame only when she plays bad girl

TO many of her countrymen, Kim Tae Hee is the perfect Korean woman.

Not only is she a sweet-natured beauty, but she"s also smart - she attends Korea"s own Harvard, Seoul National University, majoring in clothing and textile.

But the irony is this: Few noticed the 25-year-old actress until she played a scheming villain in the popular drama Stairway To Heaven last year.

Her character is so wicked that she drives a car into her stepsister (Choi Ji Woo), so that she can get rid of her and snatch her boyfriend (Kwon Sang Woo).

"When I said that I would act as an evil girl, everyone around me tried to stop me from doing it," Tae Hee told Donga Ilbo.

"But I did not want to lose this chance to play a leading role along with such top stars as Choi Ji Woo, Shin Hyun Jun and Kwon Sang Woo and producer Lee Jang Soo."

That turned out to be her best career move since she debuted in 2001 in the Lee Young Ae movie Present. Tae Hee stole the thunder from the top stars and landed in celebrity heaven. It helped that Stairway was the third highest-rated drama in Korea last year, with average ratings of 38.4 per cent.

The drama will also make history in Singapore as the first Korean serial to be shown in a prime-time slot on Channel U, starting 10pm tonight . For Tae Hee, big advertisers and renowned producers alike have been knocking on her door since last year.

She had her own "Smart Kim Tae Hee Phone" by LG Electronics and also won two leading roles in the dramas Forbidden Love and Love Story In Harvard.

"PERFECT BEAUTY"

Her name also emerged tops in several online polls, like "perfect Korean beauty", "ideal wife" and "best summer date".

Now, she has also conquered Hong Kong and Taiwan, after touring the two countries recently to promote Love In Harvard. Her impeccable manners and radiant smile impressed both fans and reporters.

But don"t be too quick to conclude that beauty is her biggest weapon. She said once: "To tell a star she is beautiful could be a compliment, but it could also be poison.

"It"s important that you should... never lose balance in your life. I hope I can become an outstanding artiste, and not a flower that blooms just once."

Tae Hee was quick to point out to the Taiwanese media that her image in Love In Harvard was just too flawless.

She plays a Harvard medical school student who dreams of practising in a village in Africa until she falls for a lawyer played by Kim Rae Won.

"My role is just way too good, that"s why men want to marry me and take me home," joked Tae Hee, who just ended a five-year relationship recently.

She also claimed that she is isn"t a good elder sister.

The Busan-born star shares an apartment in Seoul with her younger brother, Lee Wan, 21, who is also an actor.

"Sometimes when I"m out too late, he"ll call and ask where I am, then drive out to pick me up," she told Taiwanese reporters. "It feels like he"s my older brother and he"s disciplining me!"

The bond between the two siblings is obvious - but they deliberately kept their relation secret for a while.

That was after Lee Wan beat 200 other hopefuls to win a role in Stairway in late 2003.

He plays the teenage version of Tae Hee"s older brother (Hyun Jun) in the show, an angst-ridden child.

Their surnames are also different as Lee Wan picked a stage name following their mother"s surname. Apparently, he did not want to live in the shadow of his sister.

Now, the pair have joined forces for promotional projects. In April, they toured Switzerland as goodwill ambassadors of South Korea.

Proud of her brother"s achievements, Tae Hee said: "Now there are people who refer to me as Lee Wan"s sister."

IT took six years but Kim Tae-hee can finally call herself a university graduate. Sin Chew Daily reported that the petite 25-year-old graduated last week from Seoul National University where she majored in fashion design.

The South Korean lass made her acting debut four years ago in the movie Li Wu (literally translated as Present) before trying her hand at television, appearing in Stairway in Heaven (where she played Choi Ji-woofs evil stepsister) and Fox with Nine Tails.

To ensure that she graduated this year, Kim began focusing her attention on her studies after filming Love Story in Harvard. In the series, currently airing on 8TV, Kim plays a Harvard medical student.

gIt felt great to be able to immerse myself in school work. Because there were so many people who cared for me, I didnft feel the least bit tired. The only time that it got a bit awkward for me was when I received requests for autographs,h she said.

In an interview with the campus paper, National News, before graduating, Kim was quoted as saying that she would never forget her third year in university when she burnt the midnight oil to complete her assignments and took on the task of being the universityfs skiing club team leader.

Japanese Marketers Bank on Gorgeous Korean "Villain"

Combining beauty with intelligence, Korean actress and model Kim Tae-hee has embarked on a bid to conquer Japan for a new beverage after garnering lavish praise from the press there. Popular chiefly for her role in the TV series "Stairway to Heaven" as the villain Han Yoo-ri who bullies Choi Ji-woo"s character, Kim on Monday held a press conference in Tokyo to mark her debut as the advertising model for a new soft drink by Coca Cola in Japan.

Reports were glowing. "A graduate of Seoul National University, the equivalent of Tokyo University in Japan, Kim is a Korean actress unlike any other," the Nikkan Sports Daily said. Kim Tae Hee meets her younger brother Lee Wan in Japan. On 1/30, KTH visites Japan to promote her new CF for "Coca Cola" beverage "Fresh Healthy Tea (ฝลผาฤหบ๑ย๗, ใๆ฿ะหํฺธา?)". Thus, she spends the Lunar New Year holiday with LW in Japan. LW has been filming his new drama "Tree of Heaven" in Japan since 1/3. The filming site moved to Tokyo on 1/27 just in time and he meets KTH at the press conference of "Coca Cola" held at national museum on 1/30. wow u juz discovered KTH tis yr, great n u"ve watched 2 of her most recent series yupz i"ve heard of Autumn Tale & Full House.. Both stars Song Hae Gyo & the main casts in both series are kinda popular throughout Asia.. namely SHG, Song Seung Hun, Won Bin, n for Full House, singer Rain.. Autumn Tale was the 1st series a few yrs back tht made me kinda into Korean series though it wasn"t my 1st series.. then after tht I do watch Korean series on tv but not until i got to d/l Stairway To Heaven, tht I noticed KTH.. n then after tht I got the chance to d/l LSIH.. n I became a bigger fan, so I went on searching for Gumiho, which i so love as well.. so all in all i became a huge KTH fan.. But I know as well that the reason that she brokes with her ex bf was because he isnt in the industry of business and had to much pressure. Complicated... But thats the other side of success. No ive never been to others parts of asia, just countires in Europe. Shame on me !!! But hope the planning 4 summer 2007 will be come true. About going to korea... its not envisaged but who knows. Ive read on soompi that u"ve been to KL or to malaysia. In all the cases ur lucky.

Now i start to learn korean by myself. Not 4 KTH lol but it could be great to know another language. I hesitated with chinese that can be more useful but korean is easier i think and according to my friends. With my studies dont have lots of time so i take the easy way ^^.

Thx 4 ur opinion "bout STH. Will watch it when i will have little more time. I was in holidays "til today. Now time to time i will watch movies (for example my little prode with KRW), it takes less time because when i start a serie i like, i always want to know next and dont stop ^^.

I"m not frm Philippines but I"m near u ~~ I liked KTH frm last yr when my country showed Stairway To Heaven & I got to watch Love Story In Harvard, n I grow & grow to like her more after Forbidden Love also~~

since u mentioned KTH"s bday, it"s going to be 1 more mth till 29 march, hope by then she would haf finished her movie n she can return to her home & rest & celebrate it wif the pple she love~~
