Kim Tae-hee Robbed in South Africa

Local actress Kim Tae-hee was robbed at gunpoint by five men while on vacation in South Africa, according to her film company.
Logos Film told Yonhap News Agency that Kim and her companions were having dinner at their guide"s house on Jan. 27 when the armed men burst in. The men left after taking their valuables, including jewelry, digital cameras and cash.

Kim and her group cancelled the rest of their vacation and returned to Korea on Saturday.

Kim completed shooting the SBS television drama "Love Story in Harvard" earlier this month. Currently on a leave of absence from Seoul National University, the actress plans to return to complete her pre-medicine degree in spring semester.

Kim Tae-hee, Lee Wan Launch Dokdo Campaign in Switzerland



Sibling stars Kim Tae-hee and Lee Wan, the goodwill ambassadors to Switzerland, plan to visit that country in early May to launch a campaign to protect the Dokdo islets. During the visit, the two will wear T-shirts with the slogan gDokdo is our landh and distribute CD"s containing the same-titled song.

Switzerlandfs Ministry of Tourism said on April 20 that it had invited Kim and Lee to the country, where they will participate in an event introducing Korea and stage a Dokdo campaign from April 30 to May 10.

Kim and Lee as well as their staff will be wearing T-shirts with the Dokdo slogan when entering Switzerland. On the day following their arrival, they will attend a welcome dinner organized by Switzerlandfs Ministry of Tourism. Kim Tae-hee Participates in Fashion Show in North Korea



A fashion show featuring over 20 models, including top stars such as Kim Tae-hee and Choi Ja-hye, was held on May 26 at noon inside the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in Gaeseong City, North Hwanghae Province. The show was attended by hundreds of people from South and North Korea.

The models showcased more than 100 items during a 20 minute presentation. North Korean representatives and workers, witnessing a fashion show for the first time, were impressed to see the models wearing clothes that were manufactured in the Gaeseong Complex.

The show was held to mark the completed construction of factories in the Gaeseong Complex, and was attended by over 500 people including Shin Won Chairman Park Sung-chul, Hyundai Group Chairman Hyun Jung-eun, Hyundai Asan Vice Chairman Kim Yun-kyu, Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business Chairman Kim Yong-koo, and North Korean officials from the Central Special Zone Development Bureau overseeing the complex.

Shin Won relocated to the Gaeseong Complex in June of last year, and completed the construction of a plant there last January. The companyกฏs products manufactured in Gaeseong have been sold nationwide since March. Shin Wonกฏs Gaeseong factory has 281 employees with an average monthly salary of about US$57. The company plans to manufacture 20 percent (20,000 items per month) of its total production in Gaeseong.
